Automotive Diesel Oil or A.D.O is the most common fuel used for commercial application in the Philippines.  This is because diesel fuel have better fuel economy than gasoline . The word “Diesel” came from the name Rudolph Diesel a German Inventor who invented the first diesel engine in 1892.

Petroleum Diesel fuel or Petrodiesel are produced from distillation of Crude Oil. In the earlier times, petro-diesel fuel contain high level of sulfur which are harmful to the environment. European emission standards and government laws now forced oil  refineries to reduced the sulfur content of diesel fuel. In the Philippines, a 2% biodiesel blend is required as mandated by Republic Act 9367. Low sulfur diesel is normally in the range of 0.02% to 0.05% sulfur only.
